Government bans Chinese firm Huawei from UK's 5G network.
Huawei has been providing components to UK Telecommunications for the last 15 years, and the government is planning to wipe out all those components and replace them with other competitors by the end of 2027.
The government had previously said Huawei could be involved in the project but it changed its mind following growing security concerns about China.
The concern is that China's 2017 National Intelligence Law, says organizations must "support, co-operate with and collaborate in national intelligence work", which means Beijing could force Huawei to hand over any data transmitted by their hardware devices, upon demand.
